This weekend I went to Yosemite...

Needless to say, it was breathtakingly beautiful. This picture hardly does the beauty justice. This is the classic view after coming out of the tunnel.

I went up with a friend to see The Trespassers bluegrass band and enjoy Yosemite in the winter. From the whispy clouds low in the valley that moonlit Friday night and the snow illuminated by bright blue sky sunlight to the high energy wailin' bluegrass giving me chills and inspiring me to dance, I had an amazing mini-vacation up in Valley high on cloud 9! I had forgotten just how much I love listening to such great live music and dancing. Nothing compares to that high...and I was riding it all weekend!! 3 Trespassers shows in 24 hours, waking up to Glacier Point towering high above me outside the sweet accommodations I got to enjoy with the band (granted it poses very serious risk for rock fall over the new employee housing such as the one that happened last October!) Though I still am quite smitten with the band as much as any other swooning fan, I did get the opportunity to hang out 'backstage' and at the 'after' or 'morning after party' with everyone...they are more interesting, sweet and enjoyable human beings than I could have imagined...One of them is working on building his home out of tires and cans and runs his truck on veggie oil! They have a new CD coming out later this year!!
This is Sarah, the fiddle player in the band, and my sweet friend here in Bass Lake. :)

Seriously...you lived my former life that weekend. I had so many great weekends with the Trespassers. I'm glad you can be a part of it now. Miss you.
