a little more down under

Rachel, Mark and I went camping along the Great Ocean Road and to admire the sandstone sculptures in the ocean - the 12 Apostles. It was spectacular. I admit I imagined Australia as a dry, desolate landscape throughout. In fact they are experiencing something like a 13 year drought. But, the hills and valleys and rain forests we saw today were lush and beautifully green. And some of the coastal views of the shore line reminiscent of northern California and the Big Sur areas. I am embarrassed also to admit that we were among the first to quickly pull over like any old silly tourist in a national park in the states, nearly blocking the road and causing major collisions, just to gawk at and snap pictures of some wild animals, namely some koalas and their young... OOooh, but was it cool! And how could we resist the babies! Anyway, we had a great time camping (fire, marshmallows and all), enjoying the fresh ocean breeze, some tasty fish n'chips and a brisk quick dip in the south ocean. Yes, Rachel, at 39 weeks, had a great time camping too!! Enjoy the photos :)

Lilies we picked from the side of the road!

It's a special place Ozz is. My mother had a picture taken at an animal preserve holding a koala about twenty years ago. It was one of the thrills of her life she said.

Your quite the globe trotter aren't you?
