flowers in our hair

For Rachel's baby shower we wore flowers in our hair and had a tea party at the park near their house. We adorned her with necklaces and gifts and blessings.
She's a lovely woman and friend and a hippie at heart, I love it.
I'm so excited to be around to meet Kai and to share in her initiation into motherhood.

On their porch overlooking Ballarat and a beautiful sunset that you can't see in this picture. This is during one of their many dinner parties. They love having people over. In fact I'm becoming more of game player - lost bad at Scrabble last night; gave Train Across Europe a good go last week; tonight...Settlers. Bring it on.

Rachel has been getting progressively more uncomfortable as the baby gets closer to being ready to meet us all. She's always got some task or chore on her infinite to-do lists, so I'm happy to be here to help and hopefully allow her rest more. We've got big plans though to go camping on the coast this weekend, maybe get all decked out and go to the horse races next week in Melbourne...we'll see.
