on recent days and beauty

I love waking up to the sun, sleeping outside. Even in the full moon light, sleep comes better than most other places I've tried.

Moon light on the granite mountains in Yosemite is heart break chest clutch breath taking. I'd never been in the valley at night. Those meadows encircled by towering moonlit granite and water falls...

And Bass Lake never looked so inviting on these hot mosquito-y days. I'm enjoying being here, though I haven't had much time to savor it all yet. We were planning and working a course most of this last week, which was fun and really good but busy. Now, I've finally put my things away, made some head way on my to-do list and put a small dent in the 50 lbs of carrots we were given, by making 4 pans of carrot cake, which are, at the moment awaiting icing. And, we're almost done painting the bathrooms, albeit not my favorite color blue, it looks refreshed. Even better was being surprised by a newly painted sage green kitchen when folks welcomed me back this summer. It's beautiful. Come see. :)

I've got high ambitions for making granola, bread and tortillas in addition to regular meals this summer. I've got literally 100 lbs of onions that I need to chop and freeze or let rot. (another donation) and buckets of beans. Come eat! :)
