These days

It's my last week in Bass Lake, CA. I'm comfortably sitting in the living room, glancing outside, watching the shadows of the trees dance with the breeze. The wind chime is sounding in the background. I'm enjoying the best smoothie I have made to date: 1 delicious fresh orange, 1 banana, a handful or 2 of fresh-frozen blueberries, a handful of fresh-frozen strawberries, 3/4 c-ish of plain yogurt, 1/2 c-ish of almond milk. Chilled, smooth, delicious. AND, my staple, tortilla chips, with my new found favorite bean recipe - Indian Black Eyed Peas (includes cumin, jalapeno, lime juice, ginger, garlic, onion, cilantro...), great addition to a tortilla chip scoop.

My room is messy and mostly packed. I've spent the morning contacting potential employers. Still need to clean and get my car checked out. Though I'm pretty much not interested in last hurrahs for this upcoming move, I have to say this week has been spectacular. I enjoyed 4 days travelling with girlfriends through Yosemite, all over the East side and up to Tahoe enjoying the sweet rockin' bluegrass tunes of The Trespassers in addition to swimming holes, hot springs, dancing, snacking, singing, exploring and driving. Also the Taylor Creek Stream Profile was really cool. And thanks to the willingness of a young forest service employee we actually got to see it, since we got there right after it allegedly closed! Definitely worth seeing if you are in the So. Tahoe area. I've also had a lovely evening out with the ladies in celebration of C's birthday - we went to the Wawona hotel, ate ourselves silly on delicious desserts and entertained ourselves with the 2nd annual viewing of Mama Mia!

I'm leaving in two days for San Diego. I'm moving into my very own place, a little studio with hard wood floors, high ceilings, a tiny bathroom minus a sink!, an old gas stove, a small front porch. I couldn't be happier with my soon to be new home, though I've never actually seen it... my friends' recommendations and descriptions have been convincing enough. I'll share pictures once I get there. Mostly, I am going to miss the mountains, the stars, my friends, the common shared interest in being active and outdoors...but I'm know San Diego has lots to offer by way of music, outdoors, and friends too.

Here's some pics of recent days:
