Why Rocheport is so amazing...
It was the birds flying and the silhouette of winter tree branches against a pink sunset during the drive, breakfast for dinner and breakfast for breakfast (including bacon!), sleeping by a wood burning stove, reading by a wood burning stove, drinking a good beer by a wood burning stove, drinking tea by a wood burning stove, sitting on the porch swing alone wrapped in a wool blanket on a quiet moonlit winter night, playing games in the morning before breakfast, taking a walk with friends along the Katy trail and admiring the snow and gawking at the possum, being where there is no car or road or building in site, being in the company of really enjoyable people, celebration of wonderful Michelle's birthday with brownies and raspberry compote, the makeshift movie screen in the general store where they show free movies every Sunday night, and last but not least, lunch at Abigail's which included: roasted red pepper tomato soup (with ROSEMARY!), field greens with WARM red potatoes and mushrooms and chevre (goat cheese) on top, and homemade tortellinis stuffed with prosciutto and chicken topped with spinach, pecans, dried cherries and bleu cheese - hands down the best food I've ever had in one sitting without exception
