procrastination

....comes in many forms. I'm putting off doing the dishes right now; taking the bus to work on a regular basis; calling friends in the Philippines; taking dance classes; doing a triathalon; writing my memoirs...

I've put off writing this blog for the last 5 years. My friends and I have laughed imagining what I might write on this site. They seem to think I'm pretty dramatic.....moody...and that I would blog about my feelings... about my days being SO AMAZING AND INSPIRING... or just as often... SO DEVASTATINGLY DIFFICULT. Mostly, I like to amuse people... and I think some of my extreme manner of expressing my thoughts or perspectives arises simply for the sake of reactions. So, I am perfectly pleased that some of my friends here think the idea of my blogging is so entertaining because of this. I actually just imagined it not only as a means of communicating with all my friends across the globe who have taken to this 'art' of weblogging and commenting, but also as an outlet for all those times when I write letters or want to write letters to someone and don't.

My grandma, E.G. (Eccentric Grandma), has always told me that I am a good writer...mostly from all the emails I poured myself into during my time in Kenya. I've always believed her.

Yaah! Your first blog! Whoopee! I do hope this will make us feel more a part of the day-to-day lives of each other. Let me know if you need any help (like with adding your friends to your blog as 'links').

It's Friday, and I'm glad. Though I enjoy the business of work, it gets me wound up. I was so wound up when I got home tonight I was like a cleaing toronato. Mark helped my calm down when he got home. And writing to you right now is helping. I hope all is well Leigh! I miss you.

HI Leigh!
Carrie and i are here in Fredricton, NEw Brunswick. We got your comment on our blog and loved it... especially since it came with a great pic of you in your locals O.B. wear... carrie says, "short shorts, eh?" It's fun having another blogger friend...
you do write/express well... it's inspiring for me, who would happly let carrie write all of our journals for the rest of the trip, but i know that i can and should too...
anyway, we look forward to more of you, and seeing you hopefully in November
lots of love from the rhoda trippers,
